Questions
Is this before or after tax?
Before tax. Every figure is gross pay: what your employer pays you before income tax, social insurance and pension contributions.
Why are some results labelled “estimate”?
Not every statistics office publishes the full spread of pay for each age group. Where only the median is published (the US and Australia), we borrow the spread from the same survey’s figures for all workers. Ireland’s latest age breakdown is from 2023, so we scale it to the 2025 medians. The methodology page shows exactly how.
Does it include bonuses?
It depends on the source: UK and Irish figures are annual pay including regular bonuses; US and Australian figures are usual weekly pay multiplied by 52. Leave out bonuses that vary a lot from year to year.
Do you store my salary?
No. The comparison runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us or anyone else.
